August 7 | Ephesians 4:4-5

“One body and one Spirit, just as you were also called in one hope when you were called, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Now, to each one of us was given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:4–7)
We live in a divided world. Everywhere you go, people argue. We have lost the art of compromise and tolerance. Nobody gets along. But there is one place people get along in unity despite their diversity.
We seek to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the Church. We have much in common. We share the same Lord, faith, and baptism, to name a few. When Paul refers to the “one faith” we share he speaks of Christian doctrine. Faith in God includes understanding the world the way He made it to be.
Understanding Christian doctrine is part of faith. You can’t read the Bible without seeing God’s call for your dedication to Him on every page. Our doctrines increase our faith. You learn so much about God as you study the faith. Knowing who He is increases your faith. Using your mind to glorify God is one way His Spirit works in you.
Action Step: Study the doctrines of your faith and know the Lord in deeper ways. Use your mind to glorify God.
Heavenly Father, the more I learn about You, the more I trust You. Increase my faith as I study Your Word and show myself approved. Help me grow deeper in my relationship with You and glorify You.
