Reconciled

May 4 | Romans 5:9-11

“Therefore, we were justified by His blood, now much more we will be saved by Him from wrath. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by His Son’s death, much more since we were reconciled will we be saved by His life. Not only this, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we received reconciliation now.” (Romans 5:9–11)

One of the greatest feelings I’ve had is the restoration of friendship. Who hasn’t spoken out in anger and damaged their relationship? As much as we would love to, we can’t take back what we say. It’s a permanent record either for or against us.

Our sins were the record against us in our relationship with God. We violated his holiness with every thought and act. But that was before you met Jesus. He did so much in his saving act. He justified you by his blood. When he was on the cross, he made a way for you to know him.

His shed blood has the power not only to save you, but to heal, deliver, cover, protect, and reconcile you. As a sinner and God’s enemy, God’s wrath was headed your way. But Jesus saved you.

You are now God’s friend. Jesus’ salvation continues because he is not dead. Rejoice in Jesus because of all these gifts he poured out on you.

Action Step: You have been reconciled to God. Jesus paid the price of your sin on the cross. Trust in what the Bible tells you has happened. You have been set free. Don’t let the devil tell you any different.

Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for me. I seldom realize how much you have done on my behalf. I am so glad for all of your salvation gifts. I am reconciled to God, his friend and part of his family. I bless your holy name for what you have done.
