Look to Jesus

June 8 | James 1:5-8

Daily Bread

“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask from God, the One who gives everything without reserve, and does not reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without doubt, because the doubter is like a wave of the sea, driven and blown by the wind. Now that man should not expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, a double-minded  man, unsteady in all his ways.” (James 1:5–8)

You’re driving down the road in a new town and you run into a tree lying across the road. You don’t know how to get around it or how to get to your destination. You don’t have a GPS. What will you do?

Many Christians live like this. Every time they run into a snag they don’t know what to do. God can do miracles but He has a solution for each problem. All you have to do is pray and ask Him for wisdom.

God used wisdom to create the universe, and He readily gives it to us when we ask. But we don’t ask! Are we afraid of God, our Father? Jesus told us that God will give us whatever we ask in His name.

James describes our Father is one who is generous and ready to give wisdom to us. This is a precious gift because it helps us to solve life’s problems and that God pleasing way.

Action Step: No matter what you face today pray and ask God for His wisdom. He will keep you from being double minded, unable to make a choice. His wisdom gives clear insight into glorifying Him with His solutions.

Lord Jesus, give me Your wisdom for this situation. I can’t see a way out but You can. What will please You as I move forward? Thank You for providing godly solutions that bring Your blessing.
