If My People Pray

July 30 | 2 Chronicles 7:14

“And when My people who are called by My name would humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their evil ways, then I can’t myself will hear from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Some people, even some Christians, do not realize the power of prayer. They say things like, “I don’t have time to pray.” But prayer is the greatest tool in our arsenal. It has great power because we turn to the one with all the power.

As the Temple was finished in Jerusalem, King Solomon dedicated it to God. The Lord decided to allow his presence to dwell there. The Lord visited Solomon in the night and explained to him that the people would not always believe.

When they failed to be faithful to the Lord he would send locusts, keep the rain from coming for their crops, and even send pestilence among His people. Their faithlessness could bring sickness. When they cry out to the Lord he will hear them and heal them.

When you are sick, have any diseases, and any disorders, use the power of prayer. Cry out to Jesus and ask Him to heal you. This is one of the great promises of healing in the Bible. God doesn’t just heal the land destroyed by the Locust. He heals the body from all of its diseases. God wants His children to be healthy. Sickness is not part of His plan for you.

Action Step: Don’t excuse your sickness, become comfortable with it, or accept it. Like sin, it is an enemy invader. Cast it out with authority in the name of Jesus.

Sickness and disease, I come against you in the power and authority of the name of Jesus. You do not belong. I rebuke you in His name and command you to go. You have no home in this body.
