I’ve had so many things distracting me lately that the short posts about my writing progress have become more about my lack of progress. But that is slowly changing. I’m registered for MinistrieSummit23, and selling my books at an exhibitor table. I’m pretty excited about this. My life group has only two weeks left, and it feels like it has been going so fast.
The biggest hindrance right now to my book writing is my blog writing. I’m only writing one long blog post every week, but it takes a while for me to write this post. Right now, I’m writing about spiritual formation in my series, “Conformed to Christ.” It’s a great subject and I’m having a blast with it. I found the rent a whole lot of websites covering discipleship through the spiritual formation of the disciple.
With all these things going on, it’s a wonder I get any writing done. I am focusing first on my book from my Daily Vivos. If I can get this book finished and edited, and then published, that will be awesome. I will then devote my time to a book about the Lord’s Supper and how to become more contemplative as you partake of the elements.
I feel like I’m finally getting back on track and getting back to writing more than just blog posts every week. I really wanted to focus on my book writing. I have a loose school of publishing once a year. I’m hoping to beat that this year. Technically, Healed in the Name of Jesus was published in January, so I’ve already published in 2023. Anything I can accomplish beyond this is icing on the cake.
I’m looking into a plugin that tells you my progress on each book, and also keeps me accountable to do what I said I would do. I found some other apps and things that will help me stay on track and become prolific. Isn’t that the dream of every writer? One recent helpful website for writers mentioned by Chad R. Allen in my BookCamp group gave me this little gem. It’s based on word count but it is a lot more than just that. You can actually schedule out your word count for every day, weigh some days if you want to do less writing (like I skip Sundays), and so much more. Check out WriteTrack. All you have to do is register and it’s all yours. Well, it’s time to get back to writing!
