August 28 | Deuteronomy 8:4; 20:5

“Your clothing did not wear out on you, and your foot did not swell these forty years.” (Deuteronomy 8:4)
“And I have led you for forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, nor have your sandals worn out on your foot.” (Deuteronomy 29:5)
I have a hard time finding pants that fit me. Because I’m so short any pants I find must be hemmed. Shirts are just as bad. It’s rough being a short person. I don’t fit the fashion society’s mold.
God performed an amazing miracle for Israel in the wilderness. What could have been a three-week trip to get to the Promised Land of Canaan took forty years because of unbelief. It’s easy to see God’s big miracles.
Moses pointed out the small miracle the Israelites would never think of: the mundane miracle of clothes and shoes that never wore out for forty years. God took care of the Israelites’ clothing so they would not have to find more clothing, or make it themselves.
The little miracles God does often slip by us. We thank Him for the big things, but we forget to thank Him for the everyday things. You woke up this morning. The sun is shining. Or maybe the rain is pouring, but without water you would not survive for more than three days.
Action Step: Notice the little things in life God is providing for you. Every blessing you receive shows His kindness in your life. Praise God for every day, and the little blessings.
Lord God, thank You for every little blessing You do in my life. May I never neglect to praise You for the little and big things You bring into my life. I will not forget to thank and praise You.
