“When he came to Lehi, the Philistines raised the war-cry to meet him, and the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon him, and the ropes on his arms were like flax burned with fire, and the bonds melted off his hands. And he found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, and he stretched out his hand and took it, and with it he struck down a thousand men.” (Judges 15:14–15)

There are many kinds of strength. Sometimes you need physical strength and other times you need emotional or psychological strength. It doesn’t always come when we need it. But when we feel weak, we can call on the Lord and He will be our strength.

Samson was one of the strongest men in the Bible. He thought his strength came from his long hair but it came from God. When the Spirit rushed upon Samson he did extraordinary things. God used him many times to save Israel.

When you are weak, then you are strong because the Lord is your strength. Jesus gives you the power to do His will and work for Him. He works through you when you are weak. He wants you to know you are strong because of Him, not your own might.

Action Step: Call upon the Lord in your weakness and ask Him for His strength. Jesus supplies all that you need.

Jesus, I need Your strength today. Out of your mighty storehouse, give me the power to accomplish great things for You. Empower me by Your Spirit. Work Your strong power out of my weakness. Thank you for your power working through me. May You receive all the glory.
