The Lord Remembered

July 27 | 1 Samuel 1:19-20

“Then they woke up early in the morning and worshiped before the Lord and returned and entered their house at Ramah, and Elkanah knew Hannah, his wife, and the Lord remembered her. And it happened in due time Hannah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Samuel because she said, “I have asked for him from the Lord.”” (1 Samuel 1:19–20)

When we remember things we do them because we forgot to do them before. I live by my calendar and task lists. If it’s not there it doesn’t get done. As you can imagine I set lots of reminders.

But when the Lord remembers it’s a whole different animal. God can’t forget anything. He did not forget that Hannah was barren and could not have children. He did not forget the sleepless nights filled with anguish as her husband’s other wife harassed her.

God saw every moment. When the Lord remembered Hannah she conceived. When the Lord remembers He does the impossible. When the Lord remembers He does miracles.

The Lord is the God of life. He’s in the business of doing what you, doctors, and no one else can do. Hannah prayed to the Lord because only He could open her womb. Science can help us with many diseases and disorders, but when it fails your God never fails.

So when you are told your healing is impossible cry out to the God of the impossible. You will be healed. You will be whole.

Action Step: In your impossible situation cry out to Jesus. What no human can do God can do in an instant. Put all your eggs in His basket.

Lord Jesus, You know about this impossible situation in my life. I know You are my Healer, my great Physician. Remember me in my sickness and disorder. I come to You first and often. Heal me from the inside out.
