May 26 | Acts 8:35-39

“So Philip opened his mouth and beginning with this Scripture he proclaimed the good news about Jesus. And as they were traveling on the road they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Behold, water, what prevents me from being baptized?” So he ordered the chariot to stop, and they both went down to the water, Philip and the eunuch, and he immersed him. And when they came up out of the water, the Lord’s Spirit carried Philip, and he didn’t see the eunuch any longer, for he went his way rejoicing.” (Acts 8:35-39)

I thank the Lord that He has given His Spirit to me. I can imagine how difficult ministry would be without the indwelling presence of the Spirit. He gives me insight and speaks through me every day.

Philip has to feel the same way. The Holy Spirit transferred him to the middle of the desert and the Ethiopian eunuch. Philip had no idea this man existed who had such influence in his country. With his own effort, Philip would never meet this order witness to him.

The Holy Spirit transported him there. And the Holy Spirit filled his mouth with the right words to speak to him. This was a divine set up from the start. And He wants to do the same thing through you. The Spirit wants to minister through you to those around you.

Action Step: Ask the Spirit to fill you and minister through you to someone you’ve been witnessing to. He will give you the divine appointment and the words to speak. Let Him do the work.

Holy Spirit, thank you for using me in your powerful ministry. I pray you would direct me to a person you want me to witness to. Give me the words to speak, and then be exactly what that person needs to hear. Save them by your powerful word in me.
