Perfect Peace

November 4 | Isaiah 26:3-4

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.” (Isaiah 26:3–4, ESV)

This chaotic world pushes us to the brink. Amid busy schedules, appointments, work and school, and any other events we schedule we must deal with the noise of life. Some of us have a crazy home life. Others are stretched so thin we might break.

You could sure use some peace. But I don’t just mean some quiet time. I mean real, always there peace. But you can only get that from people you trust, those in your inner circle. These are the people you go to when you need help, a shoulder to cry on, the place you call home.

When you trust in the Lord, He is your home, your peace. Your mind must rest in the Lord of the Sabbath rest. But most of all, you can trust in Jesus because He is rock solid, your firm foundation. Everything you need is in Him.

Jesus never lets you down. And He never will. The Bible calls God an everlasting Rock. When you put your mind toward Jesus and focus on Him in the middle of your storm, the winds and waves of life can’t toss you about. He is your peace in the storm. Jesus brings peace when we wait on Him.

Action Step: You must tune out the crowd and the world. Place your trust in the never changing Rock. Don’t seek a momentary or shallow peace. Stay your mind on Jesus alone.

Lord Jesus, You are my perfect peace. When my world becomes chaotic I focus on You. I trust in You when everything around me is falling apart. Be my Rock and Fortress. I cling to You in my distress.
