Be Obedient

July 25 | 2 Kings 5:11

“Now Naaman was angry and he went away and said, “Behold, I said he would surely come out to me, stand, and call on the name of the Lord his God, and waved his hand over the place and cure the leprosy.” (2 Kings 5:11)

Have you ever put God in a box? We think we know what God will do and how He will do things. Or we want Him to do things our way. But that’s not how God works. He does what He wishes the way He wishes to do them.

The moment you think you know how God works He will surprise you. Naaman was furious with Elisha because he didn’t come out to greet him and impress him. He had leprosy and came to Israel demanding to be healed. But that’s not how things work.

You must get out of your own way to experience God’s way. As you pray for your healing, you can imagine how God may do it. But you can’t force Him to do it that way. When you are angry or disappointed because God is not healing you the way you expect, focus on obedience.

Elisha told Naaman what to do. But Naaman had all kinds of hangups about washing in the Jordan River. Only when he finally obeyed God’s word did he experience his healing. Obedience leads to healing. Do what God says and you will see His healing results.

Action Step: Search the Scriptures and obey God’s Word concerning your healing. When He speaks to you do what He says. You will speed up your healing through obedience.

Lord Jesus, I know You are not Lord if I don’t obey You. I humbly place myself in Your hands. I won’t force my desires on You. You have great plans for me, including my healing. I surrender to You. Do what You want to do when You want to do it.
