Written in the Book

April 11 | Daniel 12:1b-2

“But at that time, your people shall be delivered, and everyone found in the book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will wake up, some to eternal life and some to eternal reviling and abhorrence.” (Daniel 12:1b–2)

Our world is full of disappointment, depression, and despair. People lack purpose and meaning. There’s no hope without Jesus. The suffering and pain felt by everyone is worth nothing without a savior and Healer.

Daniel lived in a foreign land most of His life. He could’ve felt hopelessness. But God spoke to him and gave him visions of the end claimed by God filled with hope and joy.

We share that future with Daniel. The books Daniel saw were the books of judgment and the Lamb’s Book of Life. Jesus will judge everyone, but your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Your eternity is with Jesus forever. You have nothing to fear

Death is not the end. Unbelievers will experience the first resurrection. But they don’t have hope. Their names are not written in Jesus’s book. The hopelessness and despair they feel is because they don’t know Jesus.

You have the light people living in darkness need. You carry the living water the lost thirst for. You can bring hope to the hopeless, joy to the depressed and desperate. The message of God’s good news changes lives and rescues people from Hell.

Action Step: Share the good news with everyone. See how many you can help make sure their names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Precious Jesus, thank You for my inheritance! I’m so glad my name is written in Your book. Show me the desperate people around me who need You. Let Your Spirit guide me to share about You with them.
