The Savior Is Born

December 20 | Luke 2:6-7

Daily Bread

“Then it happened while they were there that the days were completed for her to give birth, and she gave birth to a son, her firstborn, and she wrapped Him and laid Him in a manger because there was no place for them in the inn.” (Luke 2:6–7)

Have you ever thought no one had any time for you? They may hear you but they’re not listening. They don’t seem to care. They have no time for you. You are in good company because Jesus came the same way. There was no room in the inn. He was born in the stables. John says Jesus came to His own but they did not receive Him. Paul tells us God sent His Son in the fullness of time. God is never late.

The conditions for Jesus’s arrival were not ideal. This is not how kings are born. But this was God’s plan. Sometimes God’s plans don’t make sense to you. He knows exactly what He’s doing. You can trust in His plan.

Mary and Joseph traveled a long way to get where God wanted them to be. After the long bumpy road, Mary delivered Jesus at the right time in the right place. King Jesus was born to be seen by the right people.

God’s will for you may look strange. You may not understand why He’s doing things this way. Everything may seem wrong to you but it’s just right. Jesus is the Savior of the world. He came for you. He’s still saving, healing, and delivering you.

Action Step: Trust in God’s plan even when it doesn’t make sense. God is working a wonderful miracle and plan for you.

Jesus, I trust Your plan. I know You’re working things out just the way You want them. Help me to trust even when I don’t understand. Reaffirm Your plan for me in this Christmas season.
