July 24 | James 5:14-16
“Is anyone sick among you? He must summon the elders of the assembly and they must pray for him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will deliver the sick and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess to one another sins and pray for one another, that you might be healed. Very powerful is the entreaty of the righteous person while it is working.” (James 5:14–16)
No matter what you are dealing with Jesus can touch you. And when He does you will know His power in you. He often uses others around you to minister to you. James prescribes the prayer of faith for believing for and seeing your healing.
We know what to do with our sickness. Scripture tells us. If you are sick you don’t go to the hospital. You go to church. Not to infect everyone, but to meet with Jesus. Call the elders of the church, have them anoint you with oil in the name of the Lord, and pray in faith over you.
The prayer of faith is powerful and effective. Everyone must believe that God can do what they pray for, your healing. If not, there’s no point in asking God to do it. Pray without doubt. God uses your faith in your healing.
The Lord will raise you up. He will even deal with any sins you have committed. He heals you completely, body, soul, and spirit.
Action Step: Follow James’ instructions for your healing. Pray in faith, trusting Jesus to raise you up. It’s that simple.
Lord Jesus, I believe You are healing me. Thank You for healing me! I trust in you and come to You alone for Your complete work in me. Heal me and raise me up to praise and serve you.
