November 6 | Psalm 125:1
“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people, from this time forth and forevermore.” (Psalm 125:1–2, ESV)
Sometimes my prayers lead me to ask the age-old question, “Why do the wicked get away with their sins?” At least from our human perspective this is how we see it. How can we live a righteous life in a world full of wickedness?
Other times I think this kind of question is above my pay grade. God only requires me to trust in Him and allow Him to bring His justice in His time. When you trust in the Lord you cannot be shaken. You stand firm in the sovereignty and will of God.
No matter what comes your way, what wickedness you face, Jesus is by your side. He knows everything that’s happening in your life. He sees the walls crumbling before you. He knows the accusations and lies others have said against you.
Like the mountains that surrounded Jerusalem to protect her, the Lord protects you. He surrounds you on all sides. He knows the truth about you and you can trust in His justice. The Lord will avenge you. The truth comes out. But only if you continue to trust in Him and not lean on your own defense.
Action Step: Stand in the favor of the Lord and trust Him to make things right. Don’t defend yourself or look to your own resources. You don’t have a Plan B. You don’t need one.
Lord Jesus, I trust in You, that You will work out this situation in my favor. I know You are completely righteous and just. You will avenge Your servant in Your time. Give me the strength to trust in Your solutions instead of my own.
