Thanksgiving and Praise

November 21 | Psalm 100:4

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!” (Psalm 100:4, ESV)

Take a quick examination of your life. When we look back at what the Lord has done for us we don’t find any bad things. He always does great things for us. Often times we must look back to see how God has provided, protected, and guided us.

When we are in the middle of our trial we cannot see God moving. But when we look back with 2020 hindsight we see how He has been working for His godly will to be fulfilled in our lives. All the ways He ministers to us give us good reason to thank and praise Him.

The Bible says God’s mercies are new every morning. There’s never a morning you don’t arise from sleep with something to find in your mind or heart to thank God for. What is that thing today? Can you stop at just one thing to thank God for?

So every morning begin your day by thanking God for His many blessings in your life. Start out generally, but moved to specifics. Let Him know how much you are grateful for everything He has done for you. If nothing else, start with the fact that you are alive to serve Jesus another day.

Enter into Jesus’ throne room and start praising Him on the way in. Pour out your heart to Him full of gratitude for His works in your life. Thank him for making you more like Him.

Action Step: What can you thank the Lord for right now? Name at least three things He has done for you recently.

Precious Jesus, thank You for all Your blessings poured out in my life. I give You glory for all You’ve brought me through (name your trials and gods helps). I praise You for (name God’s blessings). I live to bring You glory today.
