March 4 | Acts 19:11-12

“And God was doing powerful miracles by Paul’s hands so that even handkerchiefs or aprons on His skin were carried away to the sick, and their diseases left them and evil spirits went out of them.” (Acts 19:11–12)
America has seen at least two great revivals. The first two were called the Great Awakenings. Today, we argue about the marks of revival and what revival does in our nation. Back then, revival meant souls were saved into God’s Kingdom. We look for other things to happen in revivals today.
We look for great miracles and healings. Some people say the difference between revival and renewal is that renewal is for believers in the church while revival brings souls from outside the church into it. We need both. We need God to move to save souls and to do miracles, and He does miracles to prove His power, which sparks salvation of souls.
Rather than arguing about the definitions of revival and renewal, we should pray for the effects of both. I want to see God move in my generation as He did in the past, and an even greater ways. We need God to show His power in and through us. Let it begin in the Church and spill out to the nations. I want God to do greater things than I can imagine.
Action Step: Seek Jesus for revival and renewal in our churches and our nation. Ask Him to do greater things in this generation.
Oh Heavenly Father, show us Your glory! I want to see You glorified in my generation, in my church, and my nation. Let it begin with me. Break the boundaries of my imagination and expectations. Show Yourself in fresher and greater ways than ever before.
