On Your Side

“For the Lord gives wisdom, from His mouth come ability, and understanding, and He saves up for the upright sound wisdom, a shield to those who walk in purity keeping watch over the paths of justice, and guarding the ways of the saints.” (Proverbs 2:6–8)

You have two women in your path. One tells you hard things that don’t sound like any fun while the other tells you exactly what you want to hear. Who should you listen to? The path you choose will change your life forever.

In Proverbs, there are two women representing two paths. The first is Lady Wisdom, who shows you the proper paths that don’t bring immediate happiness, but long-term joy. The other woman, Lady Folly, tells you what you want to hear, but leads you astray.

When you listen to godly wisdom, God is on your side. Through the trials and storms of life, you may not notice He is there. But He is guiding everything exactly the way He wants it to go. He is producing godliness in you even if it’s uncomfortable for a time.

God works His wise choices in you. You navigate the storms of life with His help and come through stronger than before the storm. Wouldn’t you want the Creator of the Universe watching over you and guarding you from harm?

Action Step: Walk in God’s wisdom. He shields you from the dangers of the trial. He keeps you from falling into the abyss. Your first wise choice is to choose God’s wisdom and receive His protection and guidance.

Heavenly Father, thank You for guiding me through the storms of life. As I live for You, make my way straight. Bring Your blessing into my life. Show me the right steps to take in all of my decisions today.
