I will be publishing my new book, “Meditations on the Lord’s Supper” in the middle or end of March! I am excited to bring this book into the world. It is a resource for ministers to give them devotional thoughts and ideas about how to make the Lord’s Supper fresh and come alive for their congregations.
Since I’m still in the writing/editing phase of the book, I have to make some changes to complete this project on the timeline I have designed for it. I do to finish the manuscript, self-edit, send it to my editor, get the cover design, make final edits and changes, format the book, write all the copywriting for the back cover, try to include beta readers, and finally published the book.
That’s a lot of steps to get this book into the world. But since it is for ministers, I want to have it available for my MinistrieSummit, our district’s counsel for the ministers in Pennsylvania and Delaware. That happens at the end of April, so I have to get the book published by the end of March to get author copies to take to the summit.
It’s a tight timeline to squeeze everything. But I can do it if I make a few changes to all my projects. That means I need to pause all my writing for my website. I’m hoping to pick it up again in early April. But for now, the Divine Discourse blog, BIG series, and all my book reviews will be on hold until April.
That will allow me the time to devote fully to this book to finish it on time and publish it when I can. I am about to start up my Spring life group called, “Can a Christian Say ‘No’?” It’s all about what the Bible calls Christians to do, how hard it is to do it in this world, and how we can manage the compassionate and hospitable gifts we have.
Preparation for that begins now. I will have dates posted on my Welcome page as soon as I get them set up. I am also working through some courses from my Bible software and a great reading course in Colossians. I have to make this pause and these adjustments to accomplish all my goals for this first quarter of the year. But don’t worry. The website writing will be back in full swing hopefully by April.
I will continue to keep you posted in my Author News about my progress and how everything is going. Now it’s often more writing!
