September 7 | Psalm 23:1-3
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shellacked nothing. He makes me lie down in luscious green pastures; he leads me beside restful waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” (Psalm 23:1–3)
I would love to take care of a person’s needs completely. But I can only help with what they tell me about. I can’t read their mind. I don’t know the future to care for needs that may arise later. So I can only help a little.
But Jesus, your Good Shepherd, knows exactly what you need. He knows the future and can foresee anything that will come up later. He knows your heart. He knows what you need before you need it.
Jesus may not give you what you want. But he will give you what you need. You will never be in want with Jesus as your Provider. He provides just when you need it. Your perfect Provider gives you the desires of your heart.
Jesus provides you with His lavish grace. He brings calm to your storm, peace to your chaos. But it’s not about giving you $1 million, a fancy car, or a beautiful giant house. Jesus provides for your holiness in Him, the righteousness He gives to you. He wants you to be like Him. Providing for your needs is about Jesus’ glory.
Action Step: Look to Jesus in your impossible financial downturn. Seek Jesus for your total healing. Know Jesus more in the secret place, His divine presence.
Jesus, I seek You for everything I need. You pour out Your blessings on me even when I don’t see them. Thank You for Your grace and Your righteousness on me. You know me so well. Show me Your glory as I meet with You each day.
