Much Needed Vacation

It’s that time again! I’m going on vacation from this Sunday to Wednesday, August 9. I’ve been looking forward to this vacation. I get caught up in doing things I have to do and not getting time to do what I want to do. I want to work on my new book on the Lord’s Supper.

During our writing retreat last Friday, I had the time to get the whole outline of the book together. Everything is organized and ready for writing. I will have to do some research along the way. I find it best to do research while I am writing, or leave a note to do some research on the thought I have. That’s one of the things I hope to do during vacation.

I also want time to just vedge, to relax and watch TV and shows I’ve wanted to watch. I also have the opportunity to preach at my mentor’s church in Jupiter, Florida. I am very excited about that! It’s going to be a long way down to Orlando, so I will have time to read (listen to audiobooks) on the way down and on the way back.

We will see if all that actually happens. I am trying to get ahead in my blog posts so I will not be rushed when I get back. I am also working on editing my devotional while I am away. Right now, I will be on August 11. All of this is going on during my vacation, and writing in a new book might be just the kind of break I need. It will be productive, but it will also be enjoyable. Hopefully, I will have enough time to write my Author News update next week. If not, now you know why. Until next time…
