Long-Term Faithfulness

August 13 | Genesis 6:13, 22; Hebrews 11:7

“And God said to Noah, “An end to all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence from them, and behold, I will destroy them from the earth.”…Noah did all which God commanded him to do, this he did.” (Genesis 6:13, 22)

“By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning things not yet seen, in reverence built an ark for the saving of his household, through which he condemned the world and became an heir of righteousness according to faith.” (Hebrews 11:7)

How long do you think you can remain faithful to God? For some of us it’s not more than a few days. The more we grow in our faith the longer we are faithful to God. How about remaining faithful for 100 years?

God told Noah He was going to destroy the earth because of people’s wickedness. That must’ve been a hard pill to swallow. But then God told him to build a boat because he was going to flood the earth with rain and water.

Some scholars believe that rain had never happened on the earth before. Noah didn’t even know what rain was. But he trusted God. The genealogies tell us Noah was 500 years old before he had his sons. Then God told him to build an ark. And the flood came when he was 600 years old.

Noah withstood the distain of his neighbors, told them of the coming danger, was laughed at, and endured faithfully building the ark for 100 years. May your faith endure everything the enemy can throw at it.

Action Step: Build your faith endurance. Trust God no matter what tries to deter you. His word has never been broken. He has never failed you

Heavenly Father, give me the faith and endurance of Noah. I don’t want anything to stop me from believing Your word. Made my faith strong and powerful. I want to see Your works in my day.
