Holy Is the Lord

September 11 | Isaiah 6:1-3

“In the year of the death of King Uzziah, I saw the Lord seated on the throne, high and lifted up, and the train of his robe filled the temple. The Seraphim stood above Him, each with six wings, with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. Then one called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy Is the Lord of Hosts! His glory fills the whole earth.”” (Isaiah 6:1–3)

Have you ever had a vision from the Lord? They are some of the most powerful moments in your walk with God. They can confirm God’s goodness to you.

Israel was in transition from one king to the next, and Isaiah wandered whether he would be a righteous king. So he went where he knew he could find peace, the presence of the Lord in the Temple.

As he prayed there he received a vision. The Lord Himself came into the temple in His full glory and sat on His throne, the mercy seat of the Ark of the Covenant in the Holy of Holies. And as He spoke to Isaiah, the whole foundation of the Temple shook.

Tell me that wouldn’t be the coolest vision! The angels around God spoke of His holiness. God called Isaiah into service as His prophet, His mouthpiece to speak on His behalf to Israel.

But before he could speak for God, Isaiah had to be purified. So an angel purified his lips with a hot coal. This painful experience prepared him for the painful Ministry of being ignored.

Action Step: Listen to the Lord in His presence. You can fulfill your mission on this earth because of His holiness and greatness. All you must do is be obedient.

Lord Jesus, no matter what you call me to do I will do it with all my heart. Even if no one sees or hears me, I know You are pleased with me. Give me the courage to do Your will.
