November 25 | Philippians 1:3-6
“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:3–6, ESV)
Have you ever met a person who profusely thanked everyone no matter how small the contribution to their life? Thank you should be some of the two top words and vocabulary. But most people give more reasons to complain then to be grateful.
Paul went through so many trials in his life. He endured everything from being wipped and beaten to being shipwrecked three times. And everywhere he went his heart was full of gratitude for generous Christians around him.
In one of the most joyous letters of his entire ministry Paul thanked God for the Philippians. They took part in the gospel work right away. They served with him with joy in their hearts and gratitude for Paul’s ministry.
Paul was sure God would continue His good work begun in them from the moment of salvation. And He is working in you that same process of making you holy and conforming you to Jesus’ image. Be thankful for God’s work in you, that He never gives up on you.
Action Step: Praise the Lord for how He never gives up on you and continues to work His good character in you. Listen to and obey the Holy Spirit as He conforms you to Jesus’ image.
Thank You, Jesus for working Your great character into my life and heart. No matter how many times I stray from Your plan for my life You never give up on me. Though I have not always been faithful, You have never given up on me.
