March 11 | Isaiah 55:8

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My way,
declares the Lord.” (Isaiah 55:8)
Every person has a different personality and thought pattern. Studies on IQ tell us that there are up to nine different types of IQ ranging from emotional to musical IQ. We display genius in different ways.
God declared through Isaiah that He thinks and acts differently than us. That’s a blessing. We muddy our thoughts by trying to think of too many things at once. We don’t have the perfect perspective God has. He sees the road ahead of you and knows what’s coming. Nothing surprises God.
Whether it’s sin, willing to do the wrong thing, or selfishness that keeps us from thinking godly thoughts, we know how much we need God’s guidance. We get sidetracked by small things. God needs to keep His children straight.
We are constantly learning how to think godly thoughts and walk in God’s heavenly wisdom. He often told the Israelites to not turn to the right or the left, but to walk the straight and narrow road. Johan Kepler coined the phrase, “Thinking God’s thoughts after Him.” The more you stay in God’s presence and prayer, God will direct your thoughts and ways so that you look more like His child.
Action Step: Spend more time in God’s presence through prayer, Bible reading, and the spiritual disciplines. Make time for God, and the rest of your day will go more smoothly.
Jesus, I want to think Your thoughts and walk in Your ways. Make me more like You, and model me after Jesus. Conformity to Christ instead of the senseless and useless ways of this world. I want to live in Your glory.
