Given by the Spirit

September 12 | 1 Corinthians 12:4-6

“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit, and there are varieties of ministries, but the same Lord, and there are varieties activities, but the same God, who works them all for everyone.” (1 Corinthians 12:4–6)

The Holy Spirit is preparing you to minister by His power to those in desperate need. No matter what their needs are the Spirit wants to minister to them through you. You become God’s mouthpiece, His hands and feet to bring relief.

He grants His gifts to you. It’s not about you. It’s about ministering through you to others. The Holy Spirit is the star. He decides what gifts to place in you for His purposes. You may think one gift is better than another but He knows what gifts fit you best.

There are many gifts, all for different needs and purposes. But one Spirit gives these gifts. He decides which gift to minister through you. He leads in the moment. He prompts the gifts in you.

And you get to be part of His great ministry to others. Your spiritual act of worship is to listen to the Spirit, follow His leading, and be used by Him to make impact for God’s Kingdom in the lives of those who need to hear from God.

What a precious gift the Holy Spirit is to you. You don’t seek the gifts but the gift Giver. Spiritual gifts are only messy when everyone does not follow the Spirit’s lead. But the beauty of His ministry through you is an incredible and life-giving experience.

Action Step: Listen to and follow the Spirit’s prompting and lead. Be thankful for His gifts in you.

Holy Spirit, thank You for Your gifts you placed in me. I love to be a blessing by Your hand. Minister through me to those who need a touch from You. Make me humble as You use me in Your ministry.
