Finally Writing Again!

I didn’t plan on taking a month and a half from my book writing projects, but that’s what happened. Sometimes the Lord knows better than I about the priority of rest before diving into a new challenge. Even as a minister, I do not take my rests the way I should. I’m always looking for something else to add to my list.

Maybe I’m the only one. But it is time to get back into writing. This may be unusual to some, but I have a sermon to write before February 26. I have been working on that the last couple of days. I am slightly lazy on this Wednesday before you receive this because I had a trach change, the process of taking one plastic tubing from my neck and putting in a new one to prevent infection. Everything went very well. I slept through the whole thing, and most of the day. So I’m sluggish getting back to it.

I’m looking forward to preaching at the end of the month at State College Access Church. I will preach a message from John 9 about Jesus healing the blind man. We are promoting my books after the service! It’s going to be a great day. So, for the next little time, for about a week, I will devote my writing skills to that.

But after that, I have settled on writing my devotional thoughts on the Lord’s Supper. I am tentatively calling it Meditations on the Lord’s Supper. It is a combination of devotional thoughts, studies on everything that ties into the Lord’s Supper, and my personal thoughts on how I officiate the Lord’s Supper when afforded the opportunity. Who’s it for? I haven’t gotten that far. I know pastors will get something out of it for sure. But I think everyone who celebrates the Lord’s Supper would get something out of it. In the background, I’ll be thinking about my book on the presence of God, and finishing and compiling my devotional book that will come out very soon. All in all, I have kept busy, and I will continue to keep busy until I began to reach this year’s writing goals.
