May 9 | Psalm 139:13-16

“For you formed my inward parts, you knitted me together in the womb. I praise you, for I am awesomely and distinctively made! Wonderful are your works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was being made in secret, woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; and in your scroll every one of them was written, the days that were formed for me, yet not one of them existed.” (Psalm 139:13–16)

No one can create a manual for a device better than the inventor. He knows every part and how it connects to the other. He knows how the parts make the whole. After all, he created them to fit together for those purposes.

Your Father is the same way. He knows you better than anyone because he made you. He fearfully and wonderfully made you for his purposes. You are amazing because your Creator is amazing. As much as scientists and medical professionals understand the body, there are still great mysteries about you they may never figure out.

But there is no mystery for God. He knitted you in your mother’s womb, formed your frame, and what is a mystery to scientists is no secret for God. Everything about you is a gift from him. You are a wonderful work of God, whom he powerfully and purposefully made. You bear his image and walk with him. He has made you for such a time as this.

Action Step: You are special to God. He cares for you more than anything else in creation. He made you to love and serve him. Don’t let anyone tell you any different. You have great worth to the Father.

Heavenly Father, thank you for creating me with such care. Though I may be a mystery to others, you know me better than anyone. Don’t let me ever forget how much you care for me.
