Challenged to Write

So I got an email the other day from Chad Allen in the writers group by him involved in called BookCamp. He challenged us to write something, anything in our book this week. He is currently leading a writers’ conference in person in Chicago, but sent the email to challenge those of us who cannot attend in person.

I’ve been mentioning for a couple of weeks that some other projects have taken precedent over my writing for my newest book on the Medications on the Lord’s Supper. It’s not that I don’t have any motivation or passion to write this book. The problem has been new projects that take precedent because they are more immediate as far as deadlines.

I am also still editing my devotional book. I’m still about a third of the way through September. But, I have worked my tail off this week, and I am four and a half weeks ahead on my notes for my All about Speaking in Tongues life group. I am also 4-5 weeks had on my blog! So happy to be above water on those projects.

I say all that because I think I will take some time each day to edit my devotional, even if it’s just getting a couple of days done at a time. Trying to do that in bulk has not been very successful for me. I also want to stay ahead of my blog, and may soon be planning and writing the next miniseries, Healed in the Name of Jesus. This will be a companion to my newest book that focuses on walking through the biblical accounts and promises of healing.

If I can edit just a little bit each day, although the devotional will take longer, it will get done faster than it will get done right now. Also, if I can stay ahead of my notes for my life group and my blog, I will continue to be successful in laying aside time to write my new book. Those are my new personal goals that are very doable. We will see how much progress on each of those fronts I can make. It’s time to get back to writing.
