November 27 | 2 Corinthians 12:8-9
“Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should distance itself from me, but He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will gladly boast all the more in my weaknesses so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 12:8-9)
Have you ever wondered why God allows trials and suffering for His children? Life is enough of a struggle. He has divine prerogative in our lives. He knows better than us how things will go and when He intervenes.
God’s strategy is different from ours. He is perfectly comfortable with our weaknesses. We wish we didn’t have them. God works through our weaknesses so that He gets the glory instead of us. When God lets us go through trials and suffering, He also gives us grace to endure them.
Paul was persistent in prayer until God answered with grace for his suffering. Those who suffer for Jesus receive the grace they need to persevere. God gives them grace to handle their trials. This doesn’t mean He only gives them enough trial and suffering so they can handle it.
God’s grace means we cry out for help when we know we are not enough to handle it. God gives us the grace to bear up under the pressure of our trials and sufferings. If you wish to see God’s power in your life, you must let Him work through your weaknesses.
Action Step: Live your life by accepting your weaknesses so God can minister through you and receive all the glory. Be willing to be a vessel for God to minister to others through you.
Mighty Jesus, show yourself strong and powerful through my weaknesses. You made me, and You know what I can do for You, and what You want to do through me. Teach me to trust in Your power when I am weak.
