Do you find the first week, or even the first month of the new year to be a time of adjusting to the ways to accomplish your goals for the year? That’s what I ran into this week. I started two classes in the original text of Philippians, and they have taken more of my time than I thought they would.
Not an excuse. Just an adjustment to make so I can decide how much time I have for writing and the other things I must accomplish. I have committed to an eight week life group and now have the dates firmly set for that. It will be February 18 through April 14, skipping March 31, Easter. I’m excited about the contents of that group. It is about how to live in the last days until Jesus returns as a Christian.
Now that I know that information and how much time it takes to get through these Greek courses, I have also added preparing for that life group on my schedule of things to do every day. It’s good to be quite a busy three months.
I am leaving time for writing. My plan is to get ahead on my website with my blogs on the topic of divine healing in the Bible and my new series on BIG. I’m starting at the beginning, literally, in the Bible. This first issue only talks about Genesis 1:1. Can you believe it? Over 3000 words on the first verse of the Bible.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I have writing it. Don’t forget to tell me what you think about this new series. Leave a comment and let me know if you have any interest in ideas you want me to go through in the Bible. I have decided to continue in Genesis for a little while. I will discuss much of the prehistory of Genesis 1-11. Then I will do character studies on Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. After that, you might be the one to decide where I go next.
Much of my writing for this week has gone into getting ahead of all the new things I have going on on the website. I hope you are enjoying this fresh content. I certainly am enjoying writing it. The new year brings two major book writing projects into view. I am continuing to work on the prayer and fasting book in the background. I don’t plan on getting that published until the end of this year.
The two book projects for right now are one on developing a relationship with the Holy Spirit and emphasizing speaking in tongues in the Christian life (B Field with the Spirit). I’m also working on an update to my “A Short Guide to Sharing Your Faith” and my Easter book, “The Passion Chronicles.”
But the second major book project for this first quarter of the year is working on “Meditations on the Lord’s Supper.” If you would like to be in my beta reader group, please let me know via comments here or on social media, or by email. I would like to develop this book as I have learned with “Write Useful Books,” a book whose review will soon show up on a Wednesday for writers. All that said, I must get back to the grind and keep producing and writing everything I’m talking about. I hope you’re having a very happy beginning to the New Year. I know I am. Until next week, blessings and God’s grace upon you.
