A Summit and Headed into Vacation

A Summit and Headed into Vacation

I haven’t gotten any extra writing done in my books. But that’s okay because I plan to work on them heavily when I’m on vacation, with a break, of course. I have about a week and a half left vacation to Florida. I have set a couple of major goals for while I’m away.

First, I got to attend a virtual summit for writers called to Find Your readers. There was some really great advice and helpful presentations in this summit. I would like to implement some of what I learned over the last four days. I have some improvements I would love to make as I continue writing.

Now, back to my goals during vacation. I would like to be two weeks ahead of my blog and website writing schedule before I leave. This will give me the opportunity to tackle one or two projects that need to be done ASAP.

When I wrote my book Holiness Matters, I promised a workbook for small groups that wanted to do more than read my book. I have yet to publish that workbook, so one of my goals, if I get nothing else done, is to dive deep into that project and get at least two thirds of it done.

Another project I have if I get to it on vacation is to keep writing away in Meditations on the Lord’s Supper. I have made good progress but want to keep it up. Once I get my first draft done, I will do some heavy editing and prepare it for beta leaders interested in taking a first look.

If you are a pastor or your pastor would be interested in this book, I’ll be talking about it more when I get that first draft done. It is geared more toward pastors. They would be the perfect beta leaders for it. If at all possible, I would like to write 5-10 more of the chapters. That will put an almost at the finish line.

If I pile on any other projects than that while I’m away, leaving more time for family and enjoying being together, and preaching on the Sunday that I’m away at my mentor’s church in Jupiter, I will not accomplish any goals at all.

I have to edit myself and pace myself. But for now, the goal is to put my writing in overdrive to get my blog and website far enough ahead so that when I come back I will not be behind. With that said, I need to get back to writing. I’ll have one more update before vacation.
