November 28 | Genesis 12:2
“And I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great and you will be a blessing,” (Genesis 12:2)
So many people want to be blessed. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t. Blessing from the Lord is the privilege of every Christian. But God has a purpose in blessing us so richly.
It all started with Abraham. When he was obedient to the Lord and did what He wanted him to do Abraham became the blessed of the Lord. But you don’t just get the Lord’s blessings. You have to be obedient to the Lord’s will.
God’s promises and blessings were poured out on Abraham because he was obedient. He became a great nation, the nation of Israel chosen by God to be His special people. But more than that, Abraham walked in the Lord’s blessings.
The Lord made Abraham’s name great among the peoples of the earth that he interacted with. But all of God’s blessings weren’t just because of Abraham’s obedience. God wanted to bless others through Abraham who He blessed.
God’s blessings are poured out on you because He loves you. But He also wants you to become a blessing to others. To whom much has been given much is expected. You can be a blessing to those around you because you are blessed.
Action Step: Who can you become a blessing to today? How can you bless them? Is there any you can fulfill? Find ways to bless more than one person today. Pay attention to the needs of people and allow the Spirit to lead you to someone you can bless.
Jesus, Thank You for Your many blessings poured out on me. I can’t even count all of them. Lead me to someone who needs A Blessing from You through me today.
